Machete 03:01
I've got a machete. It ain't the most important tool to me. My weapons of choice are my weak ass voice, and this thing that tends to make my fingers bleed. You say you'll lose hope when you see all these folks, scurry through the streets singin', "Sir, oh won't you please?" You won't be alarmed 'til you see your stocks and bonds, your ROTH IRA's start to slip away. Away, away, away we stroll from our questions and concerns of what it is that we need to know. Stay strong, sing a song, and get good at your job. Come home to those you love and help them grow help them grow help them.. Keep their chins aimed up towards the sky. keep their bones all buried in their back yards. speak now or forever doubt your faith. don't dare and try to sin and don't you fuck unless you procreate. here i sit in a war. both my weapons are unsheathed. I get paid in liquid courage and well that's alright with me. it helps me forget all my worries and regrets 'cuz in my life I've been so lucky I refuse to fear death. Away, away, away we stroll from our questions and concerns of what it is that we need to know. Stay strong, sing a song, and get good at your job. Come home to those you love and help them grow help them grow help them..

The Flock 02:20
When Biggie got shot was the first I heard of rap games. In fact, hip hop was why I first approached the stage. I'll pick up a mop when I expect to get paid. Won't be a lot but it'll get me through the holidays. Someone call the cops 'cuz there's college kids to taze heard the chimes of the clock. We both know I can't stay. Nothin' but the flock, covered over everything and down at the docks I heard the music of the waters waves. Tick tock, tick tock, the devil said from behind flames. Frozen in shock the little girl began to fade. If I don't get the chop, I guess I'll get a raise and according to God most of us have seen our best days Marchin' to the bark the bones ain't on sale I can't videotape the cop readin' all my emails I won't pick up my gun, 'til they try and take it And I'll leave my boots strapped on 'cuz fuck, I need to make it Makin' management decisions while my manager is yellin' at me. Thinkin' 'bout which city suits me best financially. You're only stuck to tiles if you let them rise above. Good to see new smiles give me a beer and a hug. Started mixin' the pot, gettin' thick, gettin' heavy. From Algona, Iowa drivin' big blue Chevy's. Doesn't matter where you are just, where you're headed. Oh I used to venture far but now we're onto somethin' epic like a diamond in a snuff film, waitin' for the green light. goin' all in. but a dog ate the suit and dice. pocket full a four leaf clovers hopin' for the sweet life. a locket stay's closed forever 'til it reaches paradise. Marchin' to the bark the bones ain't on sale I can't videotape the cop readin' all my emails I won't pick up my gun, 'til they try and take it And I'll leave my boots strapped on 'cuz fuck, I need to make it and I won't be home. Naw I won't be home. No I won't be home. 'Til that sun's been long gone. And we got each other nervous don't know who's side we're on. Workin' towards the end hopin' that it's on higher ground well.. what if we're here just to figure out that... it ain't?

God Goggles 02:55
The doctors have been scramblin' and she ain't gettin' any better. Kneel down by her deathbed and put your hands together. They say there weren't no godless folks, hidin' in them foxholes. Well there were when men marched memories of their fallen brothers home. Don't you look down on me for how I see. No need to pray for me, just let me sing. I would have been a scientist if I'd been a little smarter. Not to be remembered or be some, poetic martyr naw I just think, Religion makes us feel safe and science keeps us humble. If we don't start learnin' from our mistakes we'll spiral and we'll tumble oh and.. Don't you look down on me for how I see. No need to pray for me, just let me sing. Pray the gay away, some other sunny day. Shut your fuckin' mouth if you ain't got nothin' nice to say and Pick up a bible and read Mark 12:31. Next time he's home from college give your son a fuckin' hug. Don't you look down on me for how I see. No need to pray for me, just let me sing.

Wasting Away 03:06
Climb up a tower, climb up outta bed. climb up off the ground you can sleep when you're dead. Don't turn your back on the world again today, you're stuck in a bad way. Just like the old days. Wastin' away, why you wastin' away such a pretty face? You're wastin' away, why you wastin' away all my favorite memories? Find yourself some love, find yourself a job. Find some self respect, find out who you really are. You know that you've got what all of them wolves want. Wipe up the tear drops, why won't you just stop? Wastin' away, why you wastin' away such a pretty face? You're wastin' away, why you wastin' away all my favorite memories? Step out on the porch, step outta the state. step outside your comfort zone and earn some food to match your plates. Try and picture the woman you could'a been. It ain't too late to be happy again. Wastin' away, why you wastin' away such a pretty face? You're wastin' away, why you wastin' away all my favorite memories?

Still haven't grown up. Still tend to throw up. Still tend to not let my bank account get too much my girl can swim, even in prison, and look at me, I'm free with lungs full of liquid. I never said I tried my damndest. Naw, I just get by with a smile and a handshake. I got a lot to learn, even more to earn, but please don't make me wake up too god damn soon cuz.. We all get older and ugly and fatter and we get jobs and we act like they matter there's a rope, travels, hours and miles. Plenty long to drag me down. We all get older and ugly and fatter and we get jobs and we act like they matter. Sometimes I wonder if I even got out of my hometown. Pops said, "Son, I'll love ya 'til you die. Go easy on your back, try to work with your mind." The devil may tempt me, master of disguise. Lately his clothes been made of laziness and lies. Oh we all migrate, away from the cradle. Got it rough and we all should be thankful I can't save money and I've been leaner looks like coffee and cigarettes for dinner cuz.. We all get older and ugly and fatter and we get jobs and we act like they matter there's a rope, travels, hours and miles. Plenty long to drag me down. We all get older and ugly and fatter and we get jobs and we act like they matter. Sometimes I wonder if I even got out of my hometown. Wish I knew spanish and I wish I'd do the dishes. Guess I'll just do enough to cook for me and the Mrs. The laundry is dirty, conscience is clean. Don't think Nevada (IA) cops can say the same thing. Love your lives and at least get by. Have a happy conversation maybe share a smile. Give a hug to your father, tell your mother that you love her, tell your kids that you wish you could be here forever 'cuz.. We all get older and ugly and fatter and we get jobs and we act like they matter there's a rope, travels, hours and miles. Plenty long to drag me down. We all get older and ugly and fatter and we get jobs and we act like they matter. Sometimes I wonder if I even got out of my hometown.

Folks tend to ask me what kinda music I tend to play. And I tend to tilt my head and tend to wonder just what to say well I, play for the forgotten, for the scarred and for the scared. For those that waited patiently and never found love to share. For all the blisters, all the pains and all the aches. For all the honest hearts who've made some honest mistakes and I'll... Sing my brain cells witty little sparks. And I'll sing deep hopin' I'll remember who you are and I know it might not mean much from a.. string slappin' homeless lookin' schmuck but I sing pretending it helps hold us up and... for a moment.. even I believe as much. Folks tend to ask me why I live life like I do.. I tend to tilt my heads to find the right words to choose... stole my beard and my charm from my grandpa's younger face. Learned to make and honest buck watchin' my Pops come home so late. And my three older brothers kept me tough down to my bones. My sisters and my Mother kept me safe and taught me songs and I've... said it a hundred times I'll say it a hundred more, "I love my fuckin' life. I couldn't ask for anything more." And I'll.. Sing my brain cells witty little sparks. And I'll sing deep hopin' I'll remember who you are and I know it might not mean much from a.. string slappin' homeless lookin' schmuck but I sing pretending it helps hold us up and... for a moment.. even I believe as much. And I'll.. Sing my brain cells witty little sparks. And I'll sing deep hopin' I'll remember who you are and I know it might not mean much from a.. string slappin' hopeless lookin' fuck. I hope when one a y'all.. walks out that fuckin' door that you.. leave lovin' your life a little more.

We've been runnin through the woods tonight. Searchin' for what we've been, our whole lives and.. I'll always wish I'd seen more roads before my eyes. Load me up and drop me in. Light the fuse and let it all begin. I couldn't be shot from a cannon further from this town. Good food, good music, good people, too. No hard feelings no, 'cuz I love all of you. Sometimes I need to know what goes on around me, too. I'll miss ya. I'll miss ya when you're gone. Knowin' our luck our paths will cross again and I'll see ya before you even know. I'll miss ya. I'll miss ya when you're gone. Knowin' our luck our paths will cross again and I'll see ya before you even know. I'll keep runnin' 'til I see them city lights. And I'll keep searchin' 'til I found my kind of wife. And I'll keep on watchin' them same 'ol yellow spotted lines. I'll miss ya. I'll miss ya when you're gone. Knowin' our luck our paths will cross again and I'll see ya before you even know. I'll miss ya. I'll miss ya when I'm gone. Knowin' our luck our paths will cross again and maybe we can even sing some songs.

A peculiar bunch us runts of the runts. Some work 'til the grave, some expect free lunch. Rockin' the bottom of the tax bracket. Gaspin' while we're graspin' at it. Hangin' on for dear lives, hopin' your dear wife's eyelids ain't too heavy after work tonight. And you'll never catch me poutin' in a puddle of my own tears. Loyal to my country it's the government I fear. I bet they thought we forgot how to say, "Audemus Jura Nostra Defendere." Hahahaha. We're workin' for our families. Workin' for a favor. Paid off your whole mortage and never met your next door neighbor. There's no slackin' 'til we can't hack it actin' drastic like it's automatic. It's hell to see strangers ignore others' cries for help. Imagine all us ants all fightin' for ourselves. And you'll never catch me poutin' in a puddle of my own tears. Loyal to my country it's the government I fear. I bet they thought we forgot how to say, "Audemus Jura Nostra Defendere." There's children that are hungry in every fuckin' country. Ain't never been held, just left lonely and unhealthy. There's terrorists in turbans, terrorists in suits. I don't care what you believe, get those kids some god damned food. But what do I know? There's probably more important things to do. And you'll never catch me poutin' in a puddle of my own tears. Loyal to my country it's the government I fear. I bet they thought we forgot how to say, "Audemus Jura Nostra Defendere." Hahahahah.

Woke up this mornin' with my head layin' on a empty bottle of Jim Beam. Startin' lookin'. Started wonderin' just where the hell I could be. So I busted out the door out into the street and I checked my pockets just to see that I didn't have me a dime. And I could tell from my hands shakin' and the somethin' fierce my head was achin' that it must'a been one hell of a night. Don't you roll up them sidewalks just yet. Don't roll up your sleeves, boy, don't puff out your chest. Act like the man you wanna be not just like the rest. Sometime's a drink's what you need and sometimes you need your friends. Darlin, we might not have the best of lives but some are blessed with kids and wives and the rest.. we're just findin' our way. And you might just hate your job or owe some money to them cops but tomorrow is another day. Rent was due on the 15th and your apartment lock won't fit your key and I know... it feels like a knife. Don't dwell on the little things and they are. Chin up and scream or sing tell me... "I love my life." Don't you roll up them sidewalks just yet. Don't roll up your sleeves, boy, don't puff out your chest. Act like the man you wanna be not just like the rest. Sometime's a drink's what you need and sometimes you need your friends.

Learned music at a young, young age. Father taught me everything that I know. One day I'll have me a weathered face. Until then I gotta lot to grow. Never at caviar I don't drink champagne. This guitar's the only love that I hold. I have finally found my fate. Sound of music ringin' in my ears and to hear their notes and they go... Let it all sink in. Let it all sink in. Honestly, it's just what I need, baby. Let it all sink in. Forgot my birthday but, I've forgotten worse. Keep in mind son, to love your life. And it's the music that let's us, stay on course. It's your father's footsteps that let you keep your stride. Blue collar 'til I die, maybe. My hands are calloused and my feet are so god damned sore. I'll keep searchin' for a cliche remedy. Until then I'll play these three simple chords and they go.. Let it all sink in. Let it all sink in. Honestly, it's just what I need, baby. Let it all sink in.

Worth It 02:51
I wore the forest like a hoodie. My steps steady like they should be. As I hunt the wolves that raised me since I was a little baby. Threw down my shovel in a shallow bloody puddle. Whispered to God and I wasn't very sutble I said.. I felt my head spinnin'. When I tasted vengeance and I won't forget this. No. They'll be no forgiveness. "Come forth more." Said a man with a crooked eye. I couldn't much tell, hell, never met the guy. Must'a been slick 'cuz he slid right by. Probably hopped a couple trains. Someone said he died. We had our days when we weren't the best of friends. He wandered away when I lost my faith. And no you can't get to know me 'cuz I ain't the kinda homie that needs more friends. I need more time before the end. I don't see my family, don't make my bed. I'll just work to the bone 'til I'm old 'til I'm dead. Most of us will be okay, even though there are some shitty days. Some you won't feel like workin' but open your eyes kid and see that you're worth it.
